How reconstitution maths works
Lyophilised peptides are supplied as a dry powder measured in milligrams. Adding bacteriostatic water sets the concentration: concentration (mcg/ml) = peptide (mg) × 1000 ÷ water (ml). The volume you draw for a given dose is then dose (mcg) ÷ concentration (mcg/ml). On a U-100 insulin syringe, multiply the ml figure by 100 to get units.
Example: a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 ml gives 5,000 mcg/ml. A 250 mcg research dose is 0.05 ml — 5 units on a U-100 syringe.
